I've created this site is to keep those interested, abreast of the progress of my PA Hometown Heroes project.
I'm a Gold Star Mother myself. My son, Kristofor Stonesifer, was killed on Oct 19, 2001 in a helicopter crash in Pakistan during one of the first combat operations of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Since that time I've become active in the American Gold Star Mothers organization as 2nd Vice President and was also elected President of the Dept of Pennsylvania of AGSM.
I'm focusing my efforts on increasing public awareness of the sacrifices our service people are making - those we've lost and those that still serve.
I recently had legislation passed in Pennsylvania creating a Gold Star Family license plate. We had a ceremonial signing with the governor on Nov 29, 2006
My current project is the PA Hometown Heroes banners described at the right.

Pennsylvania Banner Projects
My original project, in the spring of 2007, was to erect a banner in Harrisburg for every service member lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. I managed to locate the families of all but one, and about 140 of the then 183 Pennsylvania Gold Star Families chose to participate. An opening ceremony was held on May 12, 2007 in Harrisburg.
In early October, 2007 a group of Bucks County Gold Star Families approached the Bucks County Commissioners about producing similar banners to be displayed on the light poles in the War Memorial area of the Bucks County Court House in Doylestown. The project came together quickly with the help of a very efficient assistant to the commissioners and a dedication ceremony was held on October 19, 2007.

Just a note about the cycling images above - if you're looking for your loved one, they are divided alphabetically by last name with the left box containing A-E, the second box containing F-K, next L-R and the right box S-Z. Only photos of those participating in the various banner programs are included.
